Friendship Tea!!!

Today I got to spend the afternoon with 90+ women from church at a Friendship Tea.  We got to see a skit, hear a couple of songs and listen to an amazing speaker "Sally Berger" talk on Friendship and Jesus as our ultimate FRIEND.

        

Here are a few pictures from this afternoon.  We were greeted at a table in front to write our name on a name tag. Aren't the decorations that were all over the multi purpose room fun!!!    

                  

When we sat at our place at the table we were greeted with this little party favor.  I'm sure some of my stampin ladies had a hand in making these. Aren't they just adorable.

          

The pic on the top is the skit pic and it  was hysterical.  We've all seen the skits where someone else's arms are performing for the person in front. This was no exception, and we were treated to "Instructions for a Proper English Tea"  The pic on the bottom is the ladies singing "Circle of Friends"(not sure who it's by).

Embossed Beauty!!!

            

Leilani McGranahan designed this for our shoebox swap last Friday night.  I LOVE LOVE LOVE the colors.  The cardstock is Wisteria Wonder - Island Indigo and Pool Party.  The medallion was stamped in Versamark and then embossed with White Embosong Powder. Punches used where the Boho Blossoms and the Scallop Trim.  The punched out flowers have pearls and rhinestones on them.

That's a lot of CARDS

I'm Bummed Out!!!

Since I didn't win the Klove Balloon Fiesta deign contest I think I'll show you my contest entry.  I designed these with My Digital Studio and thought they were great. Evidently they were only great in my own mind!!  Oh well.   We live here so we'll get to go anyways.

This was the image my mom came up with using MDS. Of course someone made a cupcake out of fabric  for an entry on the same day this one was submitted.

Lyn's Workshop Card #2

             

Saw this card on Patty Bennett's website and just had to copy it .  The Flower Garden Embossing Folder was used on white cardstock. I flipped the image over and used the indented(de-embossed) side. I then sponged white cs all over in Daffodil ink, and daubered centers of flower in Melon Mambo ink.  Cardstock bases were Tangerine tango and Pacific Point.

Have you ever seen...

"FRIENDS" the tv show.  We watch the complete series evey few months.  Well back on July 20th we lost our "Stinker" of 17yrs.  She was a kitty up until the last 2 weeks of her life when she was suffering from a leg injury. It just took everything out of her. 

                  

Anyhow... the very next day we went to the shelter to pick out a new kitty. We'd been planning this for a couple months already and we had a hard time choosing.  We did ROCK-PAPER-SCISSORS to pick the new cat and my hubbie Mark did WATERBALLOON.  For those of you who haven't seen "FRIENDS" Joey does fire which beats everything and then Phoebe does waterballoon which puts out fire and that trumps even ROCK.  Hence we wound up with these adorable kitties.

Lyn's Workshop Card #1

                
The colors on this card are Concord Crush and Wisteria Wonder.  This is not a typical size card.

DIMENSIONS  1) Card Base=Concord Crush - 6.25 x 5.25   2) Card=Whisper White - 5x11 scored at 5  3) Layer 1=Concord Crush - 4.75 x 4.75   4)Top Layer=Whisper White - 4 and 5/8 x 4 and 5/8. (This is the smallest dimension that the square can be to get a FULL Doily or Medallion impression.

                

DIRECTIONS 1) Stamp the Doily in Concord Crush onto the square of white. (I find it best to ink the big stamps upside down and then lay the paper on top and rub over it to get the image) 2) Then punch out the center of what you just stamped with a 2" Circle punch. If you don't have a 2"punch just cut out the center by hand with a scissors. 3) Next I stamped the Doily in Wisteria Wonder and cut out the star shaped part of it. I off centered it and layered it on the concord image using dimensionals. 4) I then took the punched out/cut out circle in Concord and layered it on top of the Wisteria star with dimensionals. 5) I then punched out in Wisteria Cardstock a Doily using our new triple layer doily punch.  It was also layered on using dimensionals. 6) To the bottom of the white card I took the Lace ribbon Border Punch and punched out the bottom strip and then used my 2 way glue pen to add it to the Concord Crush base. When all is said and done the wite card measures about 5 x 5 after folded. Now that the card is done attach it to the Concord base.
